Run For The Roses (075)

♫ ♫♫ ♫ ♫♫ ♫ ♫♫

Sun brightly shining,
Mint juleps freely flowing,
Fine southern belles slowly strolling,
The first Saturday of May.

Thoroughbreds prancing,
Para mutuel betting,
Race track trumpeters trumpeting,
Derby Day at Churchill Downs.

Jockeys preparing,
Owners and trainers waiting,
'My Old Kentucky Home' playing,
Large crowd awaiting post time.

Warm spring breeze blowing,
Bright, colorful flags waving,
Familiar grandstand spires towering,
In Louisville, Kentucky.

Mud and dirt flying,
Down the back stretch galloping,
Everyone loudly cheering,
It's the Run For The Roses!

Festive partying,
Rich tradition of pageantry.
The 134th running
Of the Kentucky Derby!

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, PLACE YOUR FINAL BETS!
