Run For The Roses (075)

♫ ♫♫ ♫ ♫♫ ♫ ♫♫

Sun brightly shining,
Mint juleps freely flowing,
Fine southern belles slowly strolling,
The first Saturday of May.

Thoroughbreds prancing,
Para mutuel betting,
Race track trumpeters trumpeting,
Derby Day at Churchill Downs.

Jockeys preparing,
Owners and trainers waiting,
'My Old Kentucky Home' playing,
Large crowd awaiting post time.

Warm spring breeze blowing,
Bright, colorful flags waving,
Familiar grandstand spires towering,
In Louisville, Kentucky.

Mud and dirt flying,
Down the back stretch galloping,
Everyone loudly cheering,
It's the Run For The Roses!

Festive partying,
Rich tradition of pageantry.
The 134th running
Of the Kentucky Derby!

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, PLACE YOUR FINAL BETS!

I Got Knee-Walkin' Drunk (And She Ran Out On Me) (074)

♫ ♫♫ ♫ ♫♫ ♫ ♫♫

I got knee-walkin' drunk,
And she ran out on me.

We went out to dinner
With another couple.
It was a real nice night
'Til I caused some trouble.

Bombay gin martinis
Before we were seated.
Glasses of wine with dinner
Too oft repeated.

Then we moved on over
To the piano bar.
Several cognacs and
A Cohiba cigar.

They clapped when I sang
'It's A Long Way To Tipperary',
And that's when I began
To feel a bit dizzy.

They told me I stumbled
And fell down to my knees.
Knee-walkin' drunk again,
Despite her constant pleas.

Someone called me a cab
And served me some coffee.
I was knee-walkin' drunk,
And she ran out on me.

She didn't return home;
I waited up 'til three.
I got knee-walkin' drunk,
And she ran out on me.

Oh yeah! Lemme tell ya'!

I got knee-walkin' drunk,
And she ran out on me.

I Got A Snoot Full Last Night (And An Ear Full This Mornin') (073)

♫ ♫♫ ♫ ♫♫ ♫ ♫♫

I got a snoot full last night
And an ear full this mornin'.
Guess she didn't much care for
My drinkin' and carousin'.

Gonna be in the doghouse
For two or three or four days.
'Think she got a belly full
Of my philanderin' ways.

Ain't it funny how a man
Can be loved by his buddies,
Yet at the very same time
Can be scorned by his lady.

Might be time to slow down on
My drinkin' and carousin',
My sinful philanderin'
And all my womanizin'.

Yep, it might be time for me
To ease off just a little.
Ease my partyin' on back
To a nice happy middle.

Oh yeah!

I got a snoot full last night,
And an ear full this mornin'!

Uh huh!

I got a snoot full last night,
And an ear full this mornin'!

When She Walked Out (There Was Nothin' Left) (072)

♫ ♫♫ ♫ ♫♫ ♫ ♫♫

Somewhere between
Nowhere and good-bye,
Lost in a fog,
Wondering just why.

Somewhere between
Heaven and hello,
Dense low-hanging clouds,
Tossing to and fro.

Lost all alone,
Entirely bereft.
When she walked out,
There was nothin' left.

When she walked out,
There was nothin' left.

No ............

When she walked out,
There was nothin' left.

Pullin' myself
Slowly back together.
Beginning anew,
Starting all over.

No energy,
No get up and go.
Really draggin',
I'm movin' real slow.

It'll take awhile
To get over her.
Gonna take some time,
I'm pretty darned sure.

When she walked out,
There was nothin' left.

No ............

When she walked out,
There was nothin' left.

It Just Finally Seems Right (071)

♫ ♫♫ ♫ ♫♫ ♫ ♫♫

She walked down the aisle
In mid-September
And walked out the door
On the nineteenth of December.

Suppose you might say
We were just too young.
Seems we were fightin'
After those weddin' bells had rung.

All of that happened
Seven years ago,
But I saw her today
Over at Joe Bob's Stop n' Go.

She was lookin' good,
And we said hello.
Got the impression
She ain't so angry anymore.

Well, I took a chance
And asked her to lunch.
Don't know why I did,
Suppose I just had a wild hunch.

Our lil' date went real well;
We talked and we talked.
All the folks from town,
They just gawked and gawked and gawked.

Well, we're gettin' married
Next Saturday night.
Guess we missed each other
And now it just finally seems right.

It just finally seems right,
After all those lonesome years.
It just finally seems right;
Ain't gonna be no more tears.

Oh yeah!
It just finally seems right.
It just finally seems right.

She Just Ain't Happy Anymore (070)

♫ ♫♫ ♫ ♫♫ ♫ ♫♫

She tells me I don't love her
Like she needs me to.
And complains I don't want her
The way I used to.

Don't know what I'm doin' wrong,
But she just ain't happy anymore!

She tells me I don't listen,
That I never will.
Says I'm not empathetic,
Not like Doctor Phil.

Don't know what I'm doin' wrong,
But she just ain't happy anymore!

Says I don't communicate
Appropriately,
That I don't connect with her
Emotionally.

Don't know what I'm doin' wrong,
But she just ain't happy anymore!

Now I take her to movies
And to football games.
I wine her and I dine her
And call her sweet names.

Don't know what I'm doin' wrong,
But she just ain't happy anymore!

When we go crappie fishin',
I bait her fish hook.
And each year on her birthday,
I will even cook.

Don't know what I'm doin' wrong,
But she just ain't happy anymore!

My buddies advised me to back off
And give her some space.
So now I drink beer with them
Down at Joe Bob's Place.

Don't know what I'm doin' wrong,
But she just ain't happy anymore!

Last night down at Joe Bob's Place,
I got to thinkin'.
Somethin' popped into my head,
And my heart started sinkin'.

Don't know what I'm doin' wrong,
But she just ain't happy anymore!

Maybe she just don't love me
Any doggone longer.
Maybe she's found someone else,
And it's all over!

Don't know what I'm doin' wrong,
But she just ain't happy anymore!

Guess I'll talk to her later
When I get back home.
Right now I'll just drink cold beer
With a head of foam.

Don't know what I'm doin' wrong,
But she just ain't happy anymore!

Don't know what I'm doin' wrong,
But she just ain't happy anymore!

Together Forever, Forever One (069)

♫ ♫♫ ♫ ♫♫ ♫ ♫♫

Out there somewhere between
Heaven and the setting sun,
You and I are
Forever one.

From the time our eyes first met
'Til the end of eternity,
Together always,
You and me.

'Til death do us part
And then still beyond,
Ours has been
An unbreakable bond.

Our heart strings
Closely intertwined,
We'll be together, forever,
'Til the end of time.

Forever one,
We'll be together, forever
'Til the end of time.
